It was originally built in 1903 to hold the workers who labored on a local farm. In the 1940s is was converted to a duplex. We purchased the duplex in 2001 and completely renovated it from 2001-2004. Kaya, our oldest daughter, was born while we lived in the duplex...so we decided to name it after her. Thanks for visiting our blog to learn more about our duplex!
Originally the spice cabinet was a pull-down ironing board. We converted it to a spice cabinet with lots of shelves...one of the neatest features of the house.
